This species is harvested in Cameroon and The Central African Republic. It is a very heavy wood with bold figure, and naturally black in appearance. The drum’s tonal quality resembles the character of a metal drum. Rendering a warm, clear and sensitive voice, it sings a hint of that minute “twang” associated with the classic brass snare drum we’ve all played and love.
