6.5″ x 13″ Hawaiian Koa

This snare drum is our favorite.   Hawaiian Koa is very similar to African Mahogany.  The drum exhibits a bit of that dry, dark, warm earthy tone favored in Mahogany with huge body and a great tuning range.  It is both organic and broader sounding in the lower frequencies and very capable  at higher tunings with an unbeatable cross stick sound.   Rimshots are incredible!   Ardent Studios,  Memphis, Tennessee liked the drum so much, they borrowed this drum for sound samples to be used on subsequent tracking.
